Franklin Sixth Form College is a thriving, successful sixth form college serving North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding rural and coastal area, with around 1,600 full-time 16-18 and 550 part-time adult students. It is a vibrant college and we work hard to make this a supportive and friendly place to study, with every student treated as an individual.
We are looking to appoint a talented and dynamic Progress Coach with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team at Franklin College. This is a fixed term, full time, term time only post (0.8515 fte) for Shared Parental Leave Cover for one year, or on the return of the post holder, whichever is sooner. The College would endeavour to give the post as much notice as possible of any intention to the end of the contract.
Progress Coaches are responsible for a case load of students, and work with young people in groups, smaller tutorials and individual one-to-one supervisory meetings. The Progress Coach checks and monitors student attendance across College, and liaises with teaching and support staff. As a Progress Coach you will have direct contact with students, their families and other stakeholders. Progress Coaches support individual students under their care, providing help with a range of financial, academic, social and emotional issues which may be of significance to the progress of the student. This involves helping students to solve problems and ensure full attendance, making the most of their learning opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to work with young people, and a chance to gain valuable experience of supporting students within a successful and vibrant sixth form college environment. Full training will be included, and there may be additional opportunities for successful graduate applicants to begin further training towards achieving accredited teaching status.
Applicants must be educated to level 3 (A Level) and have a good level of English with excellent communication skills, empathetic and able to work under pressure.
