Our congratulations to Joseph Barker from our A Level Creative Writing group who has been longlisted for a prestigious scriptwriting competition with the National Theatre. His play, Port Arthur, is a satirical piece which impressed the judges with its originality and humour.
'A Russo-Japanese war has befallen the world and right in the middle of it an impersonator of polar explorer Admiral Kolchak leads the Russian Baltic Fleet from Livonia to the Pacific. There he finds unlikely allies in the Japanese navy after selling them an absurd amount of novelty pens'.
