Franklin Banner Background Business Group 2

A great evening for our Career Academy graduation!

On Thursday 19th April, the Franklin College 2nd year Career Academy students attend their Graduation Ceremony.

The event praised the progress and successes of the students over their time with the Career Ready programme. We also looked at the many opportunities the students were given over the course of the programme such as various trips, masterclasses and summer internships at local companies including North East Lincolnshire Council, NAVIGO, DONG Energy and Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.

Principal, Peter Kennedy hosted the event, accompanied by many student guest speakers such as Amy from the STEM Academy, Ellie and Olivia from the Business Academy, Katrina, Alisha and Lauren from the Health Academy and Kayleigh from the Law Academy.

Mentors of the students also attended from companies such as North East Lincolnshire Council and Lyke Ltd.

Each student spoke of their time on the programme and the different opportunities and benefits they have gained such as the numerous different masterclasses, trips and events, and of course their mentors and their internships.

The students also spoke of how they had grown in confidence since the start of the programme, saying that before Career Ready, they wouldn’t have had the confidence to stand up at the event and speak to all of the students and guests. However, because of the opportunities they were given, such as taking part in a number of networking events and having spoken to a number of business professionals, they have vastly improved their confidence in themselves and their careers.

At the end of the ceremony, students were each awarded their graduation certificates and congratulated for their hard work and successes during the course of the programme.

Well done to all of our graduating Career Academy students!
