English and Geography students visit the Lake District

Our English and Geography students had an incredible experience exploring the beautiful Lake District recently as part of their studies. The lakes are perfect for finding inspiration in the spring months, with nature and spectacular views that are ideal for students to develop their creative thinking and writing skills.

The students began with a boat trip on Lake Windermere, taking in the sights and then hiking to the top of a Wainwright at Dodd Wood, where they narrowly dodged the rain.

During their time in the lakes, the students also participated in a romantic poets’ workshop, experiencing the Lakes through the eyes of the Wordsworths at Dove Cottage. They also explored the wonders of Grasmere and soaked up the local culture.

The students returned home with a fresh perspective and new ideas, having developed their critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills.
