Grimsby Town Foundation B' side, joined their fellow U19 A' side in being crowned champions of their respective league- The EFL CEFA U19 North League 2.
Having set up their fate with a win over Derby a few weeks ago, Grimsby needed two points from their last two games of the season.
Grimsby welcomed Bradford City to Franklin College on Wednesday, a sunny afternoon, with three points the target.
Grimsby were off to a good start, creating several chances in the opening stages. Hodson's acrobatic effort, along with several set pieces, saw the visitors under lots of early pressure.
However, having controlled the opening stages, a lapse in concentration at the back saw Grimsby dispossessed, and Bradford took the lead against the run of play.
This didn't dampen GTF's enthusiasm, and they continued to create chances, with Louie Moore eventually making the pressure count with a neat finish into the corner, after good work by Hodson and Cicanesse on the right wing. The sides headed in at the interval level at 1-1.
Grimsby didn't have to wait long in the second half to edge in front. Theo Harvey took aim from the edge of the box, and his cross-shot was turned into the top corner by Smith.
Grimsby continued the pressure and from the second phase of a set piece, Jo Stanley drilled against the post, Hodson was on hand to turn home the rebound to give GTF some breathing space and put one hand on the trophy.
Any remaining doubts vanished with 15 minutes to play, when man of the match Louis Moore pinched the ball off the Bradford defence, firing into the corner to give Grimsby a 4-1 lead.
At the full-time whistle, a season full of twists and turns was finally concluded, with Grimsby Town B being crowned winners of the EFL CEFA NL2 with a game to spare.
Grimsby B will join Grimsby A (winners of NL1) at Wembley Stadium next month at the EFL Championship playoff final to receive their trophy and winners' medals.
