Franklin Sixth Form College is celebrating another year of outstanding student success, with students achieving exceptional grades across both A-Level and vocational courses. Students have achieved incredible results, with 99% pass rate across Level 3 provision, over 80% achieving A*- C, 52% earning high grades, and 479 students achieving A*/A, Distinction*/Distinction. Their dedication, perseverance, and hard work have exceeded expectations, delivering results to be truly proud of.
This year’s results, not only highlight academic excellence at Franklin but also the readiness of our students to go on to a wide range of universities, including Russell Group and Oxbridge universities, performing arts schools and conservatoires across the country. In addition, many students are set to undertake highly sought after higher apprenticeships both locally and nationally and rewarding careers opportunities.
A Level student, Amy Broxholme, is celebrating exceptional success, achieving A* in A Level Biology, A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and A in A Level Chemistry. Amy will now go on to study Medicine at Oxford University.
Amy said:
“I’m very excited, it still doesn’t feel real. Franklin has been amazing. My teachers were excellent and always there offering support and encouragement throughout my studies.”
Also celebrating along with Amy was classmate Johnathon Noble, who gained A in A Level Biology, A* in Maths, A* in Further Maths and A in A Level Physics. Johnathon will now go on to study a joint Master’s in Physics and Maths at Warwick University.
Principal and CEO, Wendy Ellis commented:
“I’m exceptionally happy and pleased. It’s been an amazing morning, lots of happy smiling faces, our students have achieved exceptional results.
“Our overall pass rates have improved again, we’ve got some exceptional results around our STEM subjects, maths, further maths, and computer science, these are incredibly difficult subjects, and our results are absolutely phenomenal. There’s a real skills deficit in the area, but we know we are giving our students the best chance of securing fantastic opportunities locally, regionally and nationally through achieving such high academic successes.”
