Franklin students from History, Ancient History and Philosophy courses kicked off 2026 in style with an unforgettable educational trip to Athens, bringing their classroom lessons to life in one of the world’s most historical cities.
The four-day trip has given the students chance to explore some of Athens’ most iconic landmarks, from the Acropolis to the National Archaeological Museum, Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora, and even the Impossible Museum of Illusions!
Kay Ward, Assistant Head of Department English and Humanities who organised the trip, said: “The students had a fantastic time. It was wonderful to see them connecting what they’ve studied in the classroom with the history they were seeing around them.”
2026 will bring more exciting adventures to Franklin students, who are already looking forward to trips to New York, Poland, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Paris, Albania, and cities across the UK.
