Twenty-two primary schools from across the region are going head-to-head in the annual North East Lincolnshire School Partnership athletics competition, held in partnership with Franklin as part of our Sports Leadership Academy. The competition, which features four heats, will conclude in a much-anticipated grand final at Franklin in February.
Zuriel from Welholme Academy had a fantastic day at the sporting event, taking part in an exciting range of activities, including running and relay races, standing jump, and other sporting challenges. He said, “It’s been great, I’ve had so much fun.”
The Sports Leadership Academy forms part of Franklin’s Personal and Professional Development (PPD) programme, which is designed to support students’ future aspirations and interests.

Michael Jackson, North East Lincolnshire Schools Sport Partnership Officer, has been working closely with the Franklin Sports Leaders on the event, said:
“We’ve been successfully running these events at Franklin for many years, raising the aspirations of young people from across the region while building vital skills such as resilience, teamwork and confidence. The children have all had a fantastic time. Events like today really show them the great things they can achieve and helps them believe in their potential.”
