- The importance of building positive relationships and how to promote a person-centred approach
- Equality, diversity and rights and be able to apply them to case studies, such as the impact of discrimination against vulnerable individuals
- The importance of health, safety and security in settings, and how to identify hazards and carry out risk assessments to protect individuals from harm
- Public health strategies and the importance of key practitioners and organisations
- The importance of infection control and its application, in addition to the risks associated with poor infection control and their impact
- Anatomy and physiology which covers all the body systems, such as the cardiovascular, respiratory and the digestive system
This course will give you an in-depth perception of health and social care and provide you with a range of transferable skills. You will also get the opportunity to complete a work placement to enhance your skills and subject knowledge.
