Franklin’s Grimsby Town Football Shadow Scholarship (GTFSS) Women’s Team have been named champions of the EFL North Women’s League following an incredible season.
The squad secured the league title after months of hard work and consistent performances and were relentless in their efforts to win the title. GTFSS Coach Robbie Aldrich was absolutely delighted with the team’s achievement, commenting:
“I’d like to thank Grimsby Town F.C. and Franklin for all their support throughout the journey. The players are incredibly proud to represent such a fantastic scholarship programme. Since the start of the season, the whole team has had the target of winning the league, and now they have been rewarded through their dedication, determination and desire to succeed.”
Team Captain Darcy added:
“I’m so proud of every single player for their hard work, commitment and dedication shown over this year and, for some, over the last two years. This year hasn’t been easy, and every game has been a must-win for us if we wanted to succeed, which I think we took in our stride and worked well towards.”
The title win marks another major achievement for the GTFSS programme at Franklin, highlighting the talent, commitment and ambition of its students and staff, both on and off the pitch.
