With the last of the summer sun shining bright, Franklin Sixth Form College last week held their first ever Frank Fest!
A festival designed for students to enjoy a day full of fun and laughter whilst also discovering more about their subjects and everything Franklin has to offer as the best provider in the region.
The day was an amazing success with more than 1000 new and current students in attendance participating in a variety of interactive course activities throughout the day. The event also proved to be a great opportunity for students to meet their new teachers, receive a taste of the Franklin experience, and feel prepared for their first day of College the following day - a great start to their future at Franklin!
Franklin Principal, Peter Kennedy was overjoyed with the success of the event, 'It was great to see so many new and current students here enjoying a fantastic day. We wanted to host a special, memorable event for all students who have had a difficult last 18 months and I feel like we achieved that today with Frank Fest.'
The event saw Franklin's departments put on a showcase to new and current students to give them the full Franklin experience. Course activities included a Twin Peaks themed cinema, a Great Gatsby showcase and a sneak preview into Franklin's new state of the art Esports course! The festival also hosted a paintball and archery range and an inflatable assault course for students to enjoy alongside excellent food provided by the College and local pizzeria, Tredici.
Mr Kennedy added, 'We really wanted to give our students the best experience of Franklin possible. All of our departments have really put on a show and give students a great insight into their courses moving forward and we know that the students will take today and use it to prepare them for their Franklin journey. This is just the start for them.'
Franklin already has plans for an even bigger and better Frank Fest in 2022 as the event looks to become a big part of the College's annual calendar for years to come!
