Post Results Services
(Updated 13/08/2026)
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your results you are encouraged to speak with your teacher or another member of centre staff as soon possible.
There are several post results services available. Information regarding each service, including deadlines and fees, is listed below. JCQ have also published a handy Post-Results Services guide that you can access here
Franklin College Results Review - June 2026
Summer 2026 results are being reviewed to identify candidates who are close to the next grade boundary and may benefit from a funded review of marking.
To do this, candidate consent is required to access exam papers. Following an internal review, candidates identified as potentially benefiting from a review of marking will be contacted by a member of staff to discuss this
Please complete this Access to Script Form to provide consent for Franklin College to access your exam paper(s) for internal review by teaching staff.
Clerical Check
A clerical check of an exam paper ensures that all the pages have been marked, all of the marks have been counted and the result matches the marks recorded on the exam paper.
The deadline for completion is within 10 calendar days of the awarding body receiving the request.
Priority Review of Marking
If your university place is at risk please speak to a member of staff urgently with regards to a priority appeal as priority appeals have a much earlier deadline. A priority review of marking will follow the same process as outlined below, however the awarding bodies will give these reviews priority due to university places pending.
You are strongly advised to contact your university to notify them that a review of results has been requested. By informing them, they may be able to keep your place open until the review has been completed.
- An awarding body will not inform UCAS or others that an review of marking has been requested, however it will advise UCAS of any grade change following a review.
The deadline for completion is within 15 calendar days of the awarding body receiving the request.
Review of Marking
A review of marking can be requested to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly, this does not mean the exam script is remarked.
A marking error can occur due to an administrative error, a failure to apply the mark scheme where a task only has a 'right' or 'wrong' answer or due to an unreasonable exercise of academic judgement.
Examiners are trained to conduct reviews of marking accurately and consistently. Examiners will not remark the exam script. They will only act to correct any errors identified in the original marking. A review of marking also includes a clerical check as detailed above in service 1
The deadline for completion is within 20 calendar days of the awarding body receiving the request.
Access to Scripts
Scripts can be requested to either support a review of marking or to support teaching and learning.
Where scripts are requested to support teaching and learning Franklin College provides assurance that:
- Scripts will be seen only by teachers who are members of staff at Franklin College.
- Scripts used by Franklin College to support teaching and learning will be anonymised before use.
- Script copies used by teachers at Franklin College will be kept securely within the centre. When no longer required, scripts will be disposed of confidentially.
Candidate Consent
Following the completion of a clerical check or review of marking, there are three possible outcomes:
- The original mark is confirmed as correct, and there is no change to the grade
- The original mark is raised, so the final grade may be higher than the original grade received
- The original mark is lowered, so the final grade may be lower than the original grade received
There is no grade protection following a post result outcome, therefore if the qualification grade is lowered it is not possible to revert back to the original grade awarded. Due to this, no application will be made to the exam board until candidate consent has been obtained.
Consent must be provided when requesting a post results service however can only be obtained after the issue of results for the respective examination series. If providing consent via email, this must come from the candidate's Franklin College account.
