Throughout this course, you'll explore the work of influential performers while building your performance skills and tracking your self-development in vocal quality, timing, characterisation, gesture, mannerism and more. You'll also immerse yourself in workshops studying practitioners like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Matthew Bourne and Frantic Assembly. You'll learn, rehearse and perform musical numbers from various shows, like Waitress, Hairspray, Heathers and Les Misrables, while also taking part in devised theatre workshops where you'll create and perform original work. You can choose from a single or double course, giving you the chance to investigate the work of different practitioners, develop your live performance skills, and take part in both group and individual performances. You'll also learn technical elements in staging, lighting, sound, and music editing. Choosing the double option further develops your skills through community performance, creating your own variety show and producing original work for live audiences.
