Six months have passed since the launch of our fantastic Stand Out Student Awards, a celebration of the outstanding qualities and accomplishments of our students. The awards shine a spotlight on exceptional students from across all curriculum areas, including Level 2 programs, SEND, ASPIRE, and Adult Learning, and have proven to be a highlight in the College calendar and a huge success with staff, students, and their families.
The Awards provide a platform for each curriculum area to nominate two exceptional students per half-term with nominations based on criteria such as improved attendance, resilience, positive feedback from work placements, going above and beyond, unique contributions to college life, and outstanding work ethic.
So far, 114 students have been recognised for their outstanding work, dedication, and excellence on their college journey, attending a celebratory award ceremony with their families. Nominated for an award by her biology teacher Phillippa Hyde was BTEC Applied Human Biology student Katy Watson. Phillippa highlighted Katy’s perseverance and commitment to her studies, and it was a real family affair with Phillipa also teaching her mum, Sally and dad, Kevin, when they were students at Franklin.
We are now looking forward to the next ceremony, which will take place later this year.
