English Courses

Pre-entry - Functional Skills English

Entry 1 - Level 2

Our English Functional Skills courses will build your confidence in your reading, writing, speaking, and listening allowing you to feel more comfortable in the use of everyday English. You can study at various levels all leading you to a nationally recognised qualification.

This course can be studied alone, or you can pair it with Maths or our vocational courses, such as Health and Social Care. You will be taught by our friendly tutors who will support you during your studies and assess you in each topic throughout the year.

GCSE English

Level 2

Studying GCSE English is both rewarding and valuable. Whether you are resitting or studying it for the first time, you will find it not only helps your self-development but also improves employment prospects and opens doors to higher education and university. You will focus on exam skills and strategies for success, whilst building your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This course is 100% examination.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Entry 1 - Level 2

Our ESOL courses can help you improve your English skills. Whether you want to develop your English language to help you find a job or get a better job, support your child with their studies or progress onto another credited course.

If you are a beginner, you will start at Entry 1, and can then progress on to Level 2. During your course, you will develop your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, as well as your confidence and communication skills. You will be assessed, throughout the year by undertaking a combination of, reading, writing, speaking, and listening assessments.
