On Tuesday 20th June 2017, Franklin College students had an opportunity to visit the University of Coventry’s (CU) Scarborough campus. This trip was based around health and social care, but the University offers a range of degrees in various fields, with campuses located in different parts of the country.
It was a full day’s trip with a structured plan of action to give students a real-life taster of what it's really like to study at higher education. We left the college at 8am, all a little sleepy but some of us having had a nap on the way, ready to engage in what the day had to offer. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the CU team, with some nice refreshments. We then sat down for an introductory lecture, and were taken for a quick tour around the building. The University itself is very modern and well-equipped, with their own approach to teaching which is very unique from other universities. The CU Scarborough site is quite a small with some nice architecture and natural scenery around, which is what some people may prefer when considering their progression options.
