Franklin College Young Writers launch their own publication

As an aspiring writer the biggest obstacle you can face is getting your work published. Several Franklin students have leapfrogged that obstacle with a book launch of their work.

'Franklin Young Writers completed their writing for publication programme in true authorial style with a book launch for their anthology In Case of an Emergency. Writers Alex Blight, Joshua Wendel-Jones, Kady Arliss, Joanna Green, Lisa February, Elizabeth France, India Burden, Abbie Rose, Jon Gibson and muscian Olivia Townell wowed an appreciative audience at Moon on the Water in Cleethorpes with readings from their anthology. Olivia, a well-respected singer and musician, brought a musical note to the event a beautiful and thoughtful selection of songs and music.

The collection is a vibrant mix of poetry, short story extracts, travel and life writing and includes pieces from Chloe Franklin, Matthew Tordoff, Joseph Barker, Bailey Hodson, Elijah Stratford and Jay Emerson who could not make it to the launch.

These talented writers have built a well-deserved reputation on the local poetry scene. They've worked and read with some of Britain's rising poets including Hollie McNish, Antony Dunn and Helen Mort and playwright Christopher Hill.

The anthology In Case of an Emergency is now available to buy on Amazon at £6.00'
