Franklin College has been shortlisted down to the final three in a national award which recognises good practice within the sixth from college sector.
At Franklin College, we recognise the need to prepare students for further study, employment or training alongside their studies. Students leaving Franklin are continually praised for their employability and transferable skills. The Sixth Form Colleges Association, has this year, acknowledged that Franklin students are encouraged to be some of the most independent and innovative learners in sixth form colleges nationally.
The winner of the award will be announced at a National conference at the end of the month.
This recognition comes as students and staff are preparing for a full day of careers guidance and information both in college and through university visits. The students have the opportunity to tailor the day to their specific interests and help them prepare for their next steps. Franklin is working with a number of local employers and educational providers to offer talks and workshops including: careers in the Humber, setting up a business, applying to university, interview skills and careers at sea.
