With the outstanding support and career guidance offered at Franklin, as part of our Centre for Professional Development, we are proud to celebrate the progression of 60 of our students who have progressed to further their education and support the needs of our Health and Social Care sector.
Did you know that the Health and Social Care sector is the fastest growing sector in the UK, with over 7,200 vacancies in the Humber at any one time?
Each of these students have worked with focus and dedication towards their studies. Combining their tailormade Study Programme at Franklin with our sector leading Professionals’ Programmes and support from our Centre for Professional Development, these elements combined offer a perfect combination to guide progression to the most prestigious universities, supporting the UKs’ demand for future medical professionals.
The Health and Social Care sector covers a vast array of public job roles, from medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, and sports therapy to biomedical and clinical science plus many, many more.
Our sector leading Professionals’ Programmes provide our students with outstanding opportunities for progression. Offering professional mentors, medical entrance support, trips and visits and guest speakers including a range of outstanding work experience opportunities. The Centre for Professional Development offering outstanding support to guide career aims and thrive whilst doing so.
Our newest professional programme is our new Social Work Academy. Did you know that by 2035 Yorkshire and Humber will need 174,000 Social Workers?
The journey starts here, we are fully committed to role we play towards supporting the Health and Social Care sector. Through our range of Professionals’ Programmes Franklin provide students each year with the starting blocks for our future nurses, midwives, pharmacists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, radiographers, sports therapists, counsellors, social workers and many more!
Caitlin Pears, a current student at the college has been offered a place at The University of Oxford to study Medicine. Caitlin’s experience of three of our programmes; Franklin High Flyers, Future Medics and Teaching Academy have been of significant value for her progression.
