I have sung with the Choir of Grimsby Minster since the age of 6, under the tutelage of Anthony Pinel. I’m now Senior Choral Scholar, singing Alto with the Gentlemen of the Choir.
I attended St James’ School until Year 11, where I was a keen member of the Chamber Choir and School Orchestra, and was twice awarded the prestigious J.D. Foster Memorial Bursary Award for outstanding musical achievement and versatility. In addition I was recently awarded the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) Gold Award for choristers, and I’m currently studying for Grade eights in singing and piano, alongside Music A-Level.
In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano and the organ, and writing music; and have had several of my pieces performed by various church choirs in the area. As well as my continued work in many local parish church choirs, I currently sing with the RSCM Millennium Youth Choir, RSCM Voices North and The Rodolfus Choir, have invited me to join after my participation in an Eton Choral Course in Cambridge.
This term, I was awarded a prestigious gap-year choral scholarship to sing with the Choir of Truro Cathedral. This opportunity will allow me to gain experience of a full-time choral environment, and give me invaluable experience in the music industry.
Aside from choral music I taken part in musical theatre, with leading roles such as ‘Fat Sam’ in ‘Bugsy Malone’ and ‘Edna’ in ‘Hairspray’. I also appeared several times in the choir for the touring production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’.
Franklin is a great place to develop your musical knowledge and skills with many opportunities to take part in performances.
