Bursary
Franklin College now have a new 16-18 Bursary Scheme, the details of which are as follows:

Option A: Priority Group Bursary
Students who are:

  • registered disabled and in receipt of both Disability Living Allowance and Employment and Support Allowance, or
  • independent students in receipt of Income Support, or
  • in the care of the Local Authority or foster parents, or a care leaver aged 16, 17 or 18 years

will be entitled to a Bursary up to a maximum of £1200 per annum (£30/week)

Option B: In Kind Bursary
Students whose:

  • household income is less that £21,000 per annum, and
  • household receives Child Benefit for the student concerned

will be entitled to receive either £15/week refectory subsidy or a free College Rider or College Rider Xtra bus pass(depending on where you live).

19+ Discretionary Support Fund
This fund offers financial assistance to those students who were already 19 years of age when they enrolled in August 2012.

£15 per week is available for those students who meet the criteria. Please contact the Student Finance Officer for more information.

Franklin Special Consideration Fund
Support for students experiencing extreme circumstances.

These funds are for individual students and are for specific needs. They are all dependent upon continuing in learning and maintaining attendance and achievement.
