These are a selection of short courses to help improve the skills that will help you get in to employment.  The best part is that they are FREE in most cases (to those unemployed and receiving benefits)

 

Computer skills
Level 1 or 2 (Word, excel, database etc)

Come along to one of our workshop style computer skills classes.  We have designed many short courses to help you gain valuable skills needed in the workplace.  Recognised unit qualifications can be built up over time.  Start anytime, various venues:

St Peter’s School, Cleethorpes:  Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 10am-12pm
Franklin College, Grimsby: Monday 6pm-9pm
Alcrest Academy, Church St, Grimsby: Wednesday 10am-12pm

Computer skills basics
5 weeks, 2 hours per week, FREE in most cases

This course is ideal for those with little or no computer skills.  You will learn the basics of wordprocessing, Internet and email.  Courses usually starting every half term.  Ring our office for the next course start and location. 01472 875011
 

English and Maths for Life and Work
There are on-going courses available at various locations and all levels are catered for.  Courses are usually FREE.

The YMCA Foyer, Riby Square, Grimsby: Friday 9.30am-12pm (Maths or English)
Franklin College, Grimsby:    Monday 9.30am-12 (Maths)
                                                    Tuesday 6pm-8.30pm (Maths or English)
                                                    Wed 9.30am-12pm (English)

Prepare for Work

5-week course (2 hours per week).  This course will help you evaluate the work skills you currently have and identify areas where further training would help you.  You will create an up-to-date CV and search for jobs on-line.
