You will also be introduced to health and safety when operating the computer.

iTQ2009 (Level 1) Award/Certificate (formerly known as CLAIT)

This is a great course if you already have some experience with computers and want to gain a qualification either for work or to enhance your own skills. Topics covered include: spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and word processing.

iTQ2009 (Level 2) Award/Certificate (formerly known as CLAIT Plus)

This is the next level after iTQ2009 L1 and is good if you are a fairly confident and regular user and you want to raise your skills. It is especially useful for those who use computers in work. You will develop your skills in word processing, spreadsheets and other applications. You should probably have a Level 1 ICT qualification (e.g. New Clait) before embarking on this course.

ECDL

The European Computer Driving Licence has wide recognition across the whole of Europe and also gives you a broad introduction to many computer skills. It is a popular course especially for those with good IT experience already. Many employers and even Higher Education providers are considering making this a compulsory course.  Units covered are wordprocessing, Powerpoint, Spreadsheets, computer security, Internet & email.

Work based/work specific IT Courses

Some of our IT courses at L2 (iTQ2009 & ECDL Extra) can be run in small groups in business premises for staff who need their IT skills enhancing or we can run the same courses at our venues for small groups of employed learners.  Phone us to enquire further.  This is an excellent opportunity for employers and employees to access competitively priced (sometimes FREE) IT training to fit around work practices and work patterns.  Don’t hesitate, these courses are limited due to funding constraints.

THESE COURSES MAY BE FREE IF YOU DO NOT CURRENTLY HOLD A FULL LEVEL 2 QUALIFICATION
